60Pak Thyristor / Diode Module
Hitachi Energy’s diode and thyristor modules feature industry standard housing and very low losses together with the highest operating temperatures. They provide the ultimate in reliability and are the epitome of quality, whether they are efficiently driving industrial motors, smoothly accelerating fans and pumps, or supplying power for demanding applications. The key benefits of the new 60Pak module include the highest possible performance, outstanding reliability, and increased overload capability. All of these high quality Hitachi Energy assets are wrapped in a standard industrial housing.
The 60Pak product family uses press force construction, where the assembly is pressed by a main spring to the base plate. This type of construction delivers the best performance, and improved reliability, over the device’s lifetime.
Hitachi Energy’s innovative dual-spring clamping system helps to achieve impressive IOL (Intermittent Operational Life) performance, longer lifetime, and enhanced resistance to temperature changes. The dual-spring system consists of the main square spring on top plus a pair of auxiliary springs. This unique setup enables near-perfect pressure distribution, a technique already well-known in “hockey puck” housing manufacturing.
The 60Pak diode-diode (DD), thyristor-thyristor (TT) and hybrid thyristor/diode module (DT) - rated 1800 - 2200 V - are now fully qualified and available in volume. The lineup will be expanded rapidly with support for different voltages and other configurations over the next few years. In 2023, Hitachi Energy will also launch a 6.5 kV high-voltage diode module with a current rating of 600 A.
